Matthew Samuels
Executive Director
Matthew Samuels is Executive Director at Woodbridge. Matthew is an experienced investment professional with experience across all facets of private credit including origination, market research, due diligence, legal documentation and loan management. Matthew is a director of the ESG Committee and is a passionate industry advocate for ESG and responsible investment. Matthew is also responsible for developing Woodbridge’s philanthropic strategy and partnerships.
Prior to co-founding Woodbridge, Matthew was Associate Director (Commercial Real Estate) at Merricks Capital where he was responsible for originating, screening and structuring all CRE private credit investments including credit analysis, market research and presenting to the investment and credit committees. Matthew was also responsible for the execution of all CRE investments through overseeing due diligence and legal documentation with external legal counsel of over 80 loans across Australia and New Zealand.
Matthew graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Economics, Graduate Diploma in Economics, is a CFA®️ charter holder and holds a CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
