Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer
Andrew Torrington is the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Woodbridge and is responsible for Woodbridge's overall investment portfolio including investment strategy, capital allocation, investor relations, capital raising and the day to day running of the business. Andrew has over 30 years’ experience in real estate investment, development, construction and property finance in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He is a skilled communicator, negotiator and dealmaker, facilitating smooth running businesses and ensuring the achievement of strategic objectives and outcomes.
Prior to co-founding Woodbridge, Andrew was Managing Director at Merricks Capital where he managed the growth of the group’s real estate debt portfolio and deployed over $4 billion of loans in 5 years. He was responsible for Merricks Capital's overall investment portfolio including investment strategy, capital allocation, investor relations, capital raising, origination, execution and management of investments. Andrew was chairman of the credit committee, investment committee and was a group director.
Prior to this, Andrew spent 3 years with two of Australia’s largest constructions companies, Kajima Icon and Probuild, and was COO and Group director at Probuild, where he was responsible for the operations of the business as well overseeing all shared service functions and managing the group's property development investments.
Prior to this Andrew was CEO at The Pacific Group of Companies for 5 years, an ultra-high-net-worth Australian private family, responsible for overseeing the Group’s real estate activities including the property ownership, property development and property financing businesses. He also worked with the private family to significantly restructure and corporatise the Group.
Prior to this Andrew was CEO of ASX listed Verticon Group for 5 years where he was responsible for the operations of the AUS and NZ equipment hire and labour hire business, the creation of a property development business and the eventual restructure and sale of the company.
Prior to this Andrew spent 10 years with Multiplex where he held several executive roles specialising in strategy, finance, corporate restructure and business performance improvement. In 1999 he spent 3 years with Multiplex in London establishing the European business. He was also heavily involved in the growth of the construction and development divisions in Australia and New Zealand and the Multiplex IPO in 2003.
Andrew holds a Master of Business (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree.
